Training
Official training charter
This charter sets out the purpose, the legal framework and the commitments governing all DAMOCLES training courses.
1. Purpose of the training
DAMOCLES training courses aim:
- To improve the security of individuals, their families and their homes.
- To make lawful firearm holders aware of the reality of defensive use, of the responsibility inherent in owning firearms and of the requirements of the legal framework for self-defence in France.
- To avoid tragic mistakes linked to inappropriate use of a firearm, by favouring analysis, restraint and preventive strategies over any use of a means of defence.
2. Legal framework
- Simulations are carried out with replicas that are unclassified within the meaning of the French Internal Security Code (airsoft < 2 joules).
- No real firearm is used during the exercises.
- No instruction in live firing, armed combat or offensive manoeuvres is given.
- The courses do not prepare for any armed professional activity or private security work.
- DAMOCLES CORP is neither a shooting club nor a military or paramilitary training centre.
3. Teaching approach and posture
- All exercises are carried out in a teaching, family-oriented, contextualised and realistic setting, for educational purposes.
- Each scenario is followed by a tactical debriefing to identify mistakes and areas for improvement, with the effectiveness and lawfulness of defensive actions as the standard.
- The physical and psychological safety of participants takes priority at all times.
4. Participant commitment
By enrolling in one of our programmes, the participant:
- Acknowledges that the training is purely educational and not professional.
- Understands that no teaching may be interpreted as an incitement to use force outside the framework of self-defence.
- Undertakes to use the skills acquired solely to strengthen their personal security, within the limits of the law.
